Came in for lunch on Saturday and really enjoyed a late lunch. The food was delicious, the servers were very nice and thoughtful to myself and the other customers, and it wasn't crowded. I ordered the gazpacho and spaghetti with meatballs on the lunch menu-- both of which were fantastic! Food is reasonably priced, atmosphere is great-- I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

I come here a few times a month for either their mixed grill platter or čevapi and Greek salad. I spent time in the Balkans and have tried the few restaurants in town that offer Central European cuisine. Atlantic is my personal favorite. Portions are generous, food is simple, fresh, and delicious, and prices are reasonable. Make sure to try their stuffed peppers or sarma (stuffed pickled cabbage rolls) when they have it on special! Comments about the service are in the context of American standards. Outside the U.S., people like to enjoy their meals. This establishment is about as authentic as it gets. You order, they bring you your food (which may be a little slow as they cook everything fresh) and let you enjoy your meal. No pressure from the waitstaff to turn over tables like chain restaurants. If you need to speed up the process, walk up to the register and pay. Overall, because of the consistency of the food and authentic atmosphere, as well as the great al fresco dining area, I give Atlantic 4 stars.

This restaurant is small but packs a punch. The service was excellent. We had a large group and they placed us in the back where the power was iffy. Apparently the lights went on and off based upon how loud we were....but it was funny to us. The food was fabulous. No one had a problem with anything. I had the chicken and shrimp kabob....so very tasty. Grilled to excellence. I also had the dolma...very good. I would recommend!

Excellent cooking nothing over cooked and good value. Although stir fried and grilled just enough olive oil makes the food light for the stomach. We were lucky that the Japanese Restaurant we were planning to go to had too long of a wait. Going back tonight to try the other items on the menu. Went back tonight. Good restaurants need consistency. Food was excellent again. Too bad we do not live near Salt Lake City.

Living on the road makes it hard sometimes to get a good meal. I definitely got it here. Next time I fly in I will return for more tilapia. Great service

This a nice Greek restaurant in the heart of SLC. It provides a lovely view of downtown and a beautiful front patio facing the street. Getting wine or beer here is easy despite Utah liquor laws that most tourists find obnoxious. The food is inexpensive and delicious. Not the best greek you will eat this year, but nothing to complain about. The place itself is upscale-looking and the staff is friendly.

Stopped in for lunch while attending a conference at the Grand America, and this place is a solid choice well within walking distance. The menu is Mediterranean themed, and the pricing was on point for food quality and portion sizes. I had the lamb kebab pita with a side Greek salad while my colleague had the Tuscan chicken salad. Both were good, but my lamb did have some fatty parts to it and was more on the chewy side. There was only one waitress working, but she did a great job considering we ate during the lunch rush.

Great food. Super friendly and thoughtful service. I've been camped out here for the past 4 hours.... After my run in without a bathroom at the coffee garden. I got the shrimp pita with the Greek salad. It was delish! The redheaded server was super sweet and thoughtful. No wifi though! Glad I could tether to my phone.

Fantastic! Good service, wasn't crowded, and the food was delicious. I've been here three times and will definitely be back.

We just had one of the best meals in SLC. We had lamb kebab and the beef and shrimp kebab combo. Both the lamb and steak were tender and flavorful. The shrimp was great- not overcooked. The salad was light Greek and great flavor. The grilled vegetables were not over cooked. The pita bread was soft! I would come more often if I lived here. The price was very reasonable. $12-17. You should come here to eat!!!

Freaking amazing. The Cevapi and gyro meat are absolutely dynamite. Intimate atmosphere, good service, and legit food make this restaurant an SLC must. Try the Atlantic. You know you want to.

The first time we can it was just us no one in the Resturant and today they are starting to get busy. That's what I like to see. I want to see at a place that everyone wants to eat at. It smells so amazing in here. Waiter is friendly. Tip. Wear a little sweater, kind of chilly. I am looking for consistency in my salad!!

We went to Salt Lake City for skiing and were looking for a restaurant that can accommodate our big group (25 people) for dinner. Sanad, the owner of this place not only accommodated us but gave us memorable experience. Great food and very pleasant host and staff. Highly recommended !

I placed a take out order for a salad with chicken. It was $15, good, but not that good. The tzatziki was just okay. I tried a friend's stuffed grape leaf and it was amazing. I'd probably go back for them. If the prices we more affordable, I get more salads there.

I've only been here for dinner but everytime I'm shocked that it's not busier! With the quality of the food, the portions, the good service, and the reasonable prices, this is one of my favorite downtown restaurants. The whole menu has a european feel. I personally love the lamb kabobs with rice. It comes on a huge platter with a salad, rice, grilled veggies, and one kabob with the meat and onions. This is a filling meal! They have delicious desserts so try to save room. I like the selection of drinks from the spanish lemonade to the european coffee to the wine and beer selection. The decor is not fancy and it's a very casual atmosphere.

Our favorite spot! My fiancee is European and a bit of a foodie. This place hits it on every level. It's quiet and intimate. We love that the tables are not crowded together and it is quiet enough to have a lovely romantic meal. The atmosphere is very European. The food is excellent! The Balkan bean soup and the Greek platter or the Atlantic platter are excellent choices. Great gyro meat and the Cevapi sausages are delicious! The service is always wonderful - the waitstaff seems to remember us every time. We keep looking at other restaurants (especially Mediterranean food) but always seem to keep coming back to The Atlantic Cafe!

  • Casey G.

We got the Atlantic Plate. Chicken, steak, and lamb. All meats were overdone and most contained lots of fatty tissue. Overall - food did not live up to expectations. Service was lacking also .... very slow drinks, etc. And yes we eat Mediterranean / Greek food at cities all over the U.S. often. This one missed the mark. Lots of other good restaurant choices in the area though!

My wife and I have been coming here for the past few years, and we love it! Their caprese salad is the best. And their pizzas are amazing. If you are in SLC, you must stop by.

Apparently there is a new owner. I recommend he scrub the place down, pretty dingy. On server for lunch made service slow but she was doing it all!! When our food came out, The rice was old and I had asked for fries anyway. Fries tasted like butter, they were different. The chicken and meat needed more flavor, pretty bland. Greek salad even lacked in flavor just oily. Pictures on Yelp did not look like the food I got! Too bad, I wanted this place to be delicious. To bother with parking, Its not worth it.

I had a wonderful experience at Atlantic Cafe last night. The atmosphere was warm and can be romantic, the menu is more diverse than last years', and the staff was a pleasure. Our Waiter, Senad, was so polite and gentlemanly I felt like I was at the most expensive restaurant in town. They also have quick service with our plates coming out probably 5-7 minutes after our order. This was partly due to a sparsely filled restaurant, but the Greek Plate was very complex with multiple entrees. The cook Sena (i hope I spelt this right) must be very skilled indeed to provide such quality of food in such a timely manner, as the food was perfectly seasoned and delightful. the plates are $8-$17, and they have very well sized portions. What a great price for such a brilliant experience. Keep it up Atlantic Cafe.. I will be back very soon!

If ever there was a restaurant that can be defined as "under the radar" in Salt Lake City, the Atlantic Café and Market could fit the bill. Quietly ensconced near the ever-popular Eva, between 3rd and 4th South on Main Street, Atlantic is just about as nondescript as they come. And, yet, as undistinguished as this restaurant appears, it really is one of the most enjoyable places to dine in the downtown area. The menu at Atlantic consists of an array of Mediterranean favorites, from Italian to Greek, and from Spanish tapas to Lebanese, it runs the gamut. We usually like to get their Atlantic Plate for two, which includes a choice of three kebabs, gyro meat, salad vegetables, panini bread, fries or rice (both are really good) and the cevapi sausage, one of their specialties. All of this for $35, and we take a lot of leftovers home. The meat is always perfectly cooked, the bread is freshly baked and the vegetables are fresh. We always leave very satisfied. During the summer they have patio seating out on the Main Street sidewalk, and the people watching is interesting. The weather was perfect on the day we most recently ate there, which really enhanced the overall experience. The service is good, though it can be kind of slow since they typically only have one server handling all customers, so be prepared to wait a little bit if things get busy. But it doesn't matter, because it's friendly and the food that is delivered to you is delicious!

The presentation is modern and appealing. The lamb kabab was fantastic, alongside the fresh salad and mixed vegetables. I would recommend The Atlantic to all my family and friends. Except Greg, because he hates everything. My friend has the vegetable kabab and wouldn't shut up about how great it was. It's a nice place with great food, and a place I plan to frequent in the near future.

Great food, great atmosphere.. Owner is good people! You will love this place. I ordered the lamb shish kabob plate. It was unbelievable... Very good! I'm glad I found this place and I'm glad it found me... lol

Went for lunch. Service was extremely slow with only one employee doing everything. There were several other people walking around who have some affiliation with the business that were doing nothing to help. Must be under new ownership because the high reviews are unwarranted. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Food was okay, but nothing special.

I'm visiting from CA and tried this place for lunch. We had dolmas for appetizers and they were very good. Our party had panini, Gyros and a dish called Cevapi. All were very tasty. The wait staff and cook/owner were very friendly. Try this place!

Best kept secret in downtown SLC. Don't let the unassuming facade fool you, the food and service are absolutely fantastic. I live a fee blocks away and have been coming here for a few years. The owner, Eddie, is a great guy- friendly, polite, and knows his customers. The food will amaze you- from presentation to consistent great taste. In the summer the outdoor patio on Main is a great place to come and have a glass of wine, a great meal, and people watch. I can't recommend this place enough- five stars for sure.

Walking down the road, found a nondescript storefront. I love Mediterranean food, so thought why not. I can't even. Seriously. They made the best hummus I have ever had. I had the Greek plate. So much food. So much good food. Fabulous service. I am sad that I am only visiting SLC and this restaurant is not at home.

Being from out of town, a 4.5 star rating is foreign from where we are from so we had to check it out. Definitely a 5 star experience. Food was amazing. The Atlantic plate for two was plenty of food for my girlfriend and I and we are behemoth folk. I strongly recommend this spot, 4 people establishment, almost family run. Great spot, will be returning.

Charming restaurant in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Amazing food at an equally amazing price. Service was fast and friendly.

Wow! Incredibly flavorful. Very simple layout/atmosphere. The quality of this place is the food. We got the platter for two and picked lamb, chicken, and steak kabobs as the meats. The platter had amazing roasted potatoes, a mild rice that compliments the meat well, cevapi sausage!, and gyro meat. If you just worked out, say hello to a protein fest! A side of delicious bread, various side sauces (including whipped feta/sour cream?!). Jennifer waited on us and she was quite pleasant. Coming back! They have outdoor seating too.

  • Dave W.

This place is INCREDIBLE! The atmosphere is nice and the food is out of this world. I found a seat quickly and the service was great. I ordered the steak kabob. The plate was loaded with steak, grilled onions, grilled veggies, rice, pita bread, a Greek salad and 2 garnishes. Everything on the plate was so tasty it made my mouth water for more. I eat out a lot and this is honestly one of the best meals I've ever had, hands down. As Eddie Murphy would say, "Is this a Ritz?" Why yes, yes it is!

  • Andrew N.

I was disappointed after reading all the reviews. The selection wasn't at all what I expected. The hummus portion was pretty small. The signature plate for 2 was ok. Civia sausage left some to be desired. Bummed.

Slow service, pricey food that didn't compete with the excellent establishments around it. Can't recommend with bodega and Eva cheaper and better next door.

  • Travis B.

I love the cevapi here, it comes with ajvar and feta cream cheese. There are few places that can come close to the flavors and ambiance when sitting outside on a summer night enjoying a meal. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. When I find myself downtown (and fairly sober) I try to get by here for a bite. If you see me at the tables outside feel free to stop by and buy my meal (I have offered this to you guys several times and no one has taken me up on the offer you cheap bastards).

My husband and I were lucky to find this gem of a restaurant while searching the reviews here on Yelp! Atlantic Cafe & Market had the perfect meal and location options during our stay in downtown SLC. I had the feeling our server was also the owner, as he had an air of authority to him (in a positive way.) We were one of only a few tables, so service was prompt and efficient. Although we initially came wanting Mediterranean food (hummus, gyros, etc.), we gave in to the temptation for Italian! Yet, how could we go wrong, really? We split a plate of Spaghetti with Meatballs, as well as a Genovese pizza (fresh mozzarella, garlic, grilled chicken, alfredo & tomato sauce). Let me first say, the pizza would have been enough - we had plenty of leftovers. The combination mentioned above was great. However, I think I liked the Spaghetti with Meatballs even better. The sauce was a thicker marinara over big spaghetti noodles. The real stars of the dish were the meatballs - spiced exactly right. Very tasty! Atlantic Cafe & Market is definitely worthy of a visit.

Not much to inspire from the outside but go inside...the food is delicious. Beer and wine served as well. Huge portions. Enough for day 2 on your layover!

Great place. Friendly waitress never faltered even a bit as we constantly wanted to converse with her. If youve never had cevapi sausage, as i had not, you must have it. I will go back just for this sausage. Not to mention the beer was perfect temperature, and paired perfectly by the waitress, i forget where it was from though. Pizza was also divine. Thank you Atlantic, we will definitely be back.

Get the Goulash if they have in on special, it's excellent. Also Balkan Bean Soup with their ciabatta bread is top notch. Friendly service.

Ok, have moved on from the Nuttella Crepes (see you soon) to the meat plate. For 15 bucks you get lamb sausages, gyro meat, ribeye kabobs, chicken kabobs, salad, olives, feta... Holy hell! Feast, and think of me.

I love the lasagna here! So far we've been a couple times and both times I got lasagna.I ordered it to go and they forgot utensils so I walked back in and the guy there was really nice and gave me utensils and a candy bar! Also a couple times there was a crepe maker out front. Both times we saw him we ran over to go get one, they we huge and good!...

I was so disappointed in my recent visit to the Atlantic Cafe. I used to work in the area and would eat there about twice a week, but hadn't been there in a couple of years. Wow! The service was terrible, we stood waiting for over 5 minutes before someone came from the back to seat us. There was only one table being used and it was 1230 on a Thursday. I should have walked out. I ordered the chicken kabob with rice (tasted like Rice-a-roni). The rice is an additional $3.00 to add, it is not included in the $7.99 price for the 1 chicken kabob. Very sad. Always enjoyed the food before. We will not be visiting again.

I got a basic gyro to go. The manager was direct and the food was prompt, well-priced, and delicious. I wish more places were like this.

Cevepi sausage was great. Crepes were great. Only one waiter for valentines day for all tables. Service was slow but we were not in a hurry. Would come back here if I get back to Salt Lake. Hummus app was very good. Cool trendy atmosphere.

Great food, beautiful presentation, very European, great crepes. Nice place for a birthday celebration or a date. Go hungry and ask for suggestions. Don't go for the most inexpensive sandwich, everything else is much better.

  • Adrian M.

Food was a 4 but the service was a 2. Went for lunch on a wednesday and it was quite busy, I go the last outside table. They really needed one more waiter, because the two guys the seemed to be hustling, but it took way too long for everything, On the upside, the food was excellent. I had the Greek planter, which had a few strips of gyro, moist and delicious, a kabob of chicken and onion, also moist and delicious, fries, nice and crispy, and some Greek salad with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, feta, olives and oil and vinegar. Excellent. I'd go back, but maybe not during lunch hour.

I'd like to say that this place is one of Salt Lake's "Hidden Gems" as it sits on Main Street and can easily be overlooked if you drive or ride Trax down Main. Sitting down at the table I felt like I was sitting in a legit Mediterranean café...the atmosphere was just that awesome. The menu was stacked with fantastic items like the Cevapi (Medi style sausage,) but I had to go with the Margherita Pizza (back story here...has Mediterranean ties.) The service was fantastic, and my pizza was to die for...best Margherita I'd had since a little cafe in Tel Aviv. (Sigh) I've only been here the one time, but I am for sure going to insert The Atlantic into my rotation as the pricing is really reasonable for what you get. When I go back, I'll add to this review, but a resounding "A" for this place as the food and atmosphere made me an instant fan... Oh, and order a San Pellegrino...they bring it out in the big bottle for you with a glass and slice of lemon...added so much to my meal. Now I'm hungry... UPDATE: Had lunch here again, and had the same positive experience. These guys really know how to do it right...once again, I highly recommend this place. A+ 2nd UPDATE: Ya, this place is still awesome... 3rd UPDATE: Decided to leave the menu on the table and look what were the "specials" Sicilian Pizza? Yes Please...was awesome 4th UPDATE: Don't think I need to update any more...still awesome.

Had the 1/2 Grill Plate (Gyro meat, Steak Kebab, Sausage, Salad). Salad and Sausage were really good, Gyro Meat and Steak Kebab were among the best I've had. Excellent food.

Took full advantage of the Yelp Eats week menu at Atlantic Cafe and loved every second! The atmosphere is fabulous...we sat outside each meal (4 times in all) and felt as though we were dining in Europe. The sights, sounds and of course, smells, brought back that nostalgic feeling of being in a bustling city. The owner is an adorable man that took time to visit with us over breakfast pitas and sandwiches. After a few long days at work, we found ourselves coming back each evening for the perfect light, and affordable meal. It definitely doesn't suck eating nutella crepes 3 nights out of the week. Without the Yelp menu, I thought the prices were a bit high. However, I noticed the portions are huge for regular menu selections. There is no question that I will return and once again, allow myself to be fully enveloped by the European charm of this restaurant.

The Balkan plate is amazing. The atmosphere is always comfortable and inviting. The patio is superb. Best place in SLC to people watch.

I came here and ordered the beef and lamb sausage. The sausages are about the size of Jimmy Dean sausage links, but the similarities stop there! The meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The sausages were served in a pita-like bun, lightly buttered with a tzatziki sauce and red pepper sauce served on the side. Both sauces were out of this world! The tzatziki was amazing with feta and garlic. The atmosphere of the place was a little on the nicer side, and made for a perfect date. I would definitely love going there again and trying more of their menu.

I LOVE this place! Our most recent visit was in honor of Yelp Eats Week and it was ridiculously cheap! We felt like we were taking advantage of them and their hospitality, so we made up for it by ordering many beers and glasses of wine. We shared a panini and the pastrami on this thing was the best I've tasted anywhere. Mild and not too salty, but still big on flavor. Excellent! We also shared the hummus appetizer, which was fan-freakin-tastic! The chicken kabob was wonderful and the yougurt sauce was amazing. On previous visits I've had the cevap (Eastern European sausage) and it's among my favorite dishes at any resto. I'm plotting my next visit now... for that tasty, tasty, cevap. Our super-nice Serbian server was so useful, funny and cool. She was very friendly and kept our bellies full and our whistles whetted. The patio at Atlantic Market is one of my favorite features. It's right on Main Street, which makes it perfect for people watching, while soaking up the sun. Even when it's not Yelp Eats time, this place is a great value. The beer and wine list is also great!

Over the course of a few visits to Atlantic Cafe, I have sampled their sandwiches (chicken gyro), and grilled stuff such as chicken kebabs, veggies, falafel, salmon, and potatoes. The food is good. While the rice and the kababs are cooked well, my taste buds often complain about the lack of just that extra bit of flavor. Hence, Atlantic Cafe will not be my first choice for kababs and rice in the valley (Ali Baba, and the much underrated Chicken Express take the top honors). I also feel some of the items are overpriced. For instance, the nutella crepe. I tried it for the first time during the recent Yelp Eats event. I'm sure I would have been disappointed if I had to pay the full price for it. The owner is a friendly person and the downtown location is definitely very attractive, especially for taking out-of-town guests. Both of which contribute to nudge its overall likability factor to 4 stars.

Atlantic Café & Market serves up a menu of Greek and Mediterranean food at this downtown location. We ate here the other night and the food was very nicely presented and tasted delicious. Service was a little slow that night, but our waitress was friendly and personable. I think service was slow because it was just her and the cook working that evening. Heck, maybe she was the cook? I don't know. I would like to go back here again.

My friend recommended this place to me. I went to lunch and got the Euro Burger. The food was amazing and I liked the atmosphere. It is like a European cafe in the heart of Salt Lake City. The meat and vegetables were fresh. They have a patio on Main St. that one could have a gyro and a Guinness. The service was not the best, but it was fairly busy. I would recommend this place and will be back again...soon.

Here's a downtown Main Street eatery that has quietly been going about serving great Mediterranean food for quite some time without all the hoopla and hype. I mean, they've won some awards along the way, but they're not out screaming about themselves and patting themselves on the back. Instead, they're just making the most of their cozy location by continually feeding the fortunate but faithful few who visit each day. I had read good things and wanted to stop by, so when it was lunchtime yesterday and I was downtown I knew it was time. The interior is nothing if not cozy. It's decorated plainly; adorned without being too busy. The main dining area is nothing more than a few tables, with some smaller tables down the corridor on the right. A bar occupies the back third of the space, and the restrooms at the rear. Side note: the restroom just may be the most coral colored room I've ever been in. Like, brilliantly coral, floor to ceiling. Feeling particularly carnivorous, we ordered the grill sampler for two and opted for rice instead of fries. You can choose from a variety of meats, and the only one I remembered skipping was the shrimp, but only because I felt a ravenous hunger and shrimp seemed too lightweight. After a short wait, we received exactly what had been advertised. A large plate of assorted meats - chicken, lamb, steak, and their specialty, cevapi. Cevapi is like sausage, only with a Mediterranean flair. Google it. If you like sausage, this is a must-order menu item and it comes in a few different dishes they serve. Our server was on top of her game, especially when the lunch rush came all at once and filled the dining room. It was good to see the owner out helping as well. He was incredibly nice and took time to talk to me about the menu and restaurant as a whole. Looks like the patio is up and rolling for the summer, so there's another reason to stop in. Sit on Main Street, watch the people go by, and enjoy a nice, reasonably priced meal from a restaurant that has found its place and continues to quietly satisfy diners in the city.

I really don't know why I don't come here more often? I have always enjoyed anything I have ever ordered. And I love the atmosphere in this little place. And they are now doing crepes from scratch right outside the restaurant. I wasn't able to try them out but I will go back soon for sure. Along with the restaurant they also have a little market. You can get imported products from the Mediterranean area. I will be coming back soon for sure.

If you're looking for a quiet place to get some awesome food, Atlantic here we go! I have only been there for lunch and it has been a great experience every time. The food speaks for itself. Just trust me. In the summer, they have a crepe bar in the front with sweet and savory crepes for all. Can't wait to go back and get my crepe on!

If you crave a taste of Europe - not just the food but the experience - this is your place in SLC. They have a nice patio area on the sidewalk out front - the food is a collection of Italian/Greek/Serbian/Med. Don't be shocked when you find your server is a lovely Serbian transplant - we had the same server on both visits over the past week and she remembered us on the 2nd visit and asked about our young son - great touch. Don't expect fast service - of course - fast service is not the point on a trip to Europe - you want to linger - take your time. The food has been good on both visits so far and to linger longer I would recommend the crepes with banana and nutella - so add French to the list of places they can transport you too... The décor is moderate but the experience is fantastic.

Found this place on Yelp and went there for my birthday with my 2 BFFs. I had the steak pita skewer something or other and it was amazing. The server was super nice and I'm so glad I spent my birthday here.

Waited 40 minutes with no udpates, no refills, and no food. Walked out hungry

Sidewalk patio is amazing on warm summer nights. Good slow-food with slow service, perfect place to take your time & relax.

Simply put, best food you can get in Utah! Me and my friends are regulars here. Always treated like a close friend by the owner, and the food is unbeatable. For those of you who have traveled and want to experience the tastes of Europe in place of the regular bland food Utah has to offer, give this place a try. Your sure to return! Tips: for the crepe eaters, save room for dessert! They have an amazing Nutella banana crepe. My boyfriend is the meat eater, and regardless of the meat plate he chooses, he always licks it clean.

My first stop in Salt Lake City and a friendly stop it was! Greeted like I was a friend or regular. Cute European style cafe bistro, definitely recommend!

Yes!!!!!!!! After years of walking by, I finally dined at The Atlantic, and it was fantastic! The cevapi was delicious, and SO much food... and we only did the 1/2 order! I did lamb kebob skewers, and my dinner companion did the steak and shrimp plate. Again, like the appetizer, both were out-of-the-park tasty and the portions were massive! The service was slightly slow... we were outside, taking in the downtown scene, and drinking wine, so it didn't bother us, but it was a rather long dinner experience, so don't expect to be in and out... and the food is absolutely worth the wait!

I found out about Atlantic Cafe this morning via my fellow Yelpers and decided I should try it out for lunch. This hole-in-the-wall Mediterranean spot features grilled meat and veggie plates, kebabs, and of course pita and hummus. The menu is quite expansive with enough lunch and dinner choices to excite anyone with taste buds. Atlantic is most famous for their sausage sandwich, but seeing as I wasn't in the mood for man food, I ordered the grilled vegetable plate. The dish featured an assortment of grilled veggies, a scoop of rice, a few falafel balls, pita bread, a small bed of lettuce with a slice of tomato, and a spot of hummus and their house specialty, a red pepper spread. It was perfectly portioned for my lunch-sized appetite. The flavors in the dish were good. Not excellent, I am sorry to say, but good. A little sea salt would have really helped their cause. I should have tried the baklava, which I assume is homemade. Next time... While I wouldn't go back for the kitchen's ability to properly season food, I would go back because of the place's authenticity. I don't know exactly where the servers were from, but they had legit Eastern accents, and they were very nice. I also liked people watching while sitting at the bar that faces Main Street, and I could feel the ground shaking when the train went by. This place epitomizes downtown local food joints, and I recommend you check it out.

I love, love, love this place! Whenever I don't feel like cooking or I have guests in town, this is where I go. I first discovered this kind of food when I was in Croatia. Let's just say the cevapi at The Atlantic reminded me of being in Trogir. It's very authentic - lots of flavor, crisp vegetables, flavor explosions in my mouth! Thank you Atlantic for always being consisted and serving delicious food.

My mom and I were staying in a hotel downtown while moving me to Salt Lake. We were looking for a place to eat near our hotel and stumbled upon this place. They had outside seating and a cute inside area as well. There seemed to be only one server at the time but he was doing a wonderful job. We had a mix plate of hummus, olives, pita bread, veggies, and felafel to start. After, we shared a wonderful pizza with prosciutto, olives, mushrooms, and basil. It was soooo delicious. Really fresh food. They also have someone of a store where you can buy cheese, meat, and other goodies. Overall, this place is great if you want a nice dinner at a really good price. It actually felt a little like I was in Europe, which was a fun extra.

We came here late Thursday night for a light dinner. They had plenty of selections for meat- eaters, including lamb sausage and assorted kababs. My husband oudered the sausage, which was served on a large, lightly toasted home-made bun, with mild red pepper and eggplant sauce on the side. It was a very generous portion for a relatively low price! The server said that the sausage was made at the restaurant. No packaged stuff ! I just wish they had more choices for vegetarians. I ordered the veggie kabob, which was tasty but way too small, so I had to fill up on French fries.

I got the Balkan platter and the roasted red pepper sauce was the best red sauce I've ever tasted, the flavor was similar to some of the mole at the red iguana but better. On everthing else I loved the flavor and will be back next time I'm in Salt Lake City, went with foodies and there was only positive comments from everyone, go early for dinner or you might be waiting but it's worth the wait

I kind of regret just getting the grilled Salmon and not something a little more "Mediterranean", I mean the Salmon was good but you can get that kind of thing elsewhere and other places to it just as good. The restaurant was nice but I wasn't blown away by the food. Also I was there on a slow Saturday afternoon and there was only one person working so service was a bit slow. I've been curious for a while about the place and I'm definitely glad I went, but I'm not really in any hurry to go back either. If you're in the area and Mediterranean sound good then definitely check it out. But I wouldn't really make it a point to travel cross the valley just to go there.

Do I go too easy on the restaurants I review? You tell me. I think I just happen to end up at some good restaurants. Today, I'm talking about The Atlantic Cafe on Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. It's a tiny little place with a welcoming atmosphere and a busy lunch clientele, and a place to which I will gladly return to eat again. We arrived just after the noon time hour began, and our party was given a long table down the middle of the room. The waitress, with an accent that sounded like she hailed from somewhere in the eastern Mediterranean, was friendly and personable, not to mention patient, as we waited for our group to all arrive, then wait again while we looked at the menu, then wait again when we weren't sure even then what to order. Yeah. We were that indecisive. I ordered a "Diabolo" sandwich/panini, and it was a fresh and different change from my typical sandwich, and just tad spicy. The meat was well cured and the toppings were fresh. Across the table, Clint got a kabab that he very much enjoyed, and Spencer ate a gyro in about as much time as it takes to type this sentence. Other orders included a vegetarian lasagna that got excellent reviews, as well. Our drinks were kept full, and the food was brought quickly. The lunch prices were reasonable-I think I dropped less than $10 on the meal and soft drink. The Atlantic was worth the time to stop by, and I think the crowd that filled each table agreed with me. It was packed by the time we left just after 1. APROPOS: As we were finishing up, I noticed a picture of Mehmet Okur on the wall, and then looked up to see him walking in with a friend. Apparently, he's a fan, too.

One summer day, you should go here and have lunch. Sit on the outside patio, under the trees, in the shade, right on Main Street. Order a Czech beer, a Cevap sandwich, and be transported to Europe. Finish your meal off with some Hippo cookies from the little market inside. Then make sure to go work out sometime later that day, or your arteries will clog up. I suppose you could order something a bit more healthy, but that kind of spoils the fun.

This is where my partner and I go when we want good, simple, fresh food with friendly service and without the attitude. He's a big BIG eater, and me, well not so much, but we both enjoy the Atlantic. It's not much to look at, but the Atlantic feels special when you're in it. They also have a fairly good beer selection, and the salads are always absolutely delicious. I always walk out of there with a new spring in my step. If you haven't been there before, try one of the platters or a special. The cevap is a must for sausage lovers! Great for: inexpensive but romantic meals, quick healthy lunch, picky eaters, people who like to linger over dinner.

Great food, great service. We ordered cevap and kebab combination plate with rice. All of the plate tasted great and it was a good introduction to cevap. Atmosphere is pretty good too, with candle lights and generally warm setting. The 'market' portion is interesting, with assorted imported items (mostly from eastern Europe, but some even from Germany, etc.). Check out the back bathroom when you're there, there's a random big-screen TV with some tables. It was the most unexpected part of my visit, haha.

I've only been here once, but my first experience was good. I definitely want to go back.... soon. I frequently walk past this place because I work in the neighborhood, and I have always found their patio to be charming, and generally full of people. The interior of the restaurant was very clean, and charming. It definitely had a Mediterranean feel to it , and was very different than the typical Utah restaurant. I found the service to be friendly, and prompt. I chose the Greek salad, maybe I should've branched out and tried something different, but nonetheless, I had the Greek salad, and I loved it. The greens were very fresh, there was a generous portion of Feta cheese, and the olives were some of the best I've tasted. I can't wait to come back.

Most amazing meal!!! The atmosphere and service were amazing. The owner is very friendly and attentive. We had the hummus and pita bread. I have never seen my mother so excited about something she was eating before. She even asked for a second serving of it. The dolmas was some of the best I have ever had. We also had the chicken kebab pita and falafel pita for the entrees which were amazing. And to end the meal we ate the nutella crepe and baklava. I don't know that I have ever had such a perfect meal with my mother before. We will definitely be going back.

The food was delicious. The meat and cheese plate was good, along with the Czech pilsner. The Atlantic Plate for two was an extraordinary amount of food. In fact, it was way too much food for two people. I appreciate the generosity but they need to scale down a bit. Would return to eat.

I went for dinner last night with co-workers. They ordered the mixed grill and veggie platters and they all loved their food. It looked amazing. I ordered the salad nicoise with tuna and was disappointed. I asked if the tuna was a fresh seared tuna and was told that it was. It was cooked tuna, similar to canned. The salad and bread were good, but don't order the tuna. Fortunately, the good wine selection made up for it. Three stars because my colleages loved their food and I'd like to go back to try something else.

We were in SLC for a conference and it was getting late. I hit Yelp and saw this place wasn't far from the hotel and had some decent reviews. When we got there, they were getting ready to close but the waitress seated us anyway. Ordered the Sicilian pizza and all I can saw is wow! Decent prices, excellent late night pizza and very friendly.

One of salt lake's hidden treasures. The Atlantic is an authentic mediterranean restaurant. It's no frills with great food and drinks! I enjoy the salads and paninis. The cheese, veggies, olive oil, and balsamic are exactly what i expect from a euro style restaurant. I've never been disappointed in the dozen times i've eaten there since 2005. The patio is great in the summer. It is what it is. If you're looking for an upscale posh restaurant, keep going. If you're looking for a place that reminds you of a European casual restaurant that is friendly and relaxing, try the Atlantic.

I'm always had a good time coming here, their combo plates are quite delicious and hearty, I've had to take a box a few times because I got so much food. Their kebabs and cevap (sausage) are my favorites, but they do a pretty good Greek salad as well. They're the only game in the downtown area it seems when it comes to Mediterranean food, but it doesn't mean they slacked off in their quality. The outdoor seating is nice too, weather permitting. Service here is always friendly and I was shocked to find out that one of the waitresses knew my "usual" even though there had been a gap in several months between visits...we'll see if she was just being nice in the future. Note that sometimes it can get pretty busy and you'll have to wait for your food for a bit, but if you've got a long lunch hour, spend it here sometime.

I'd put this up there on the list of best (lunch) restaurants in SLC. It's difficult to find a restaurant who can make salmon so skillfully. Really, really delicious and the owners are very kind and hospitable.

Definitely a fan. The porch seating was really nice, it was a perfect temperature for hanging out in downtown Salt Lake City. I had the Greek Salad with chicken kabob and it was spot on for a light healthy meal. The pita was really good too! Very reasonably priced, very pleasant server, and nice outside ambiance. I'll definitely go back.

The best food in all of Salt Lake City! Plus very affordable and amazing service! Everything on the menu that we tried was amazing, cooked properly and seasoned just right! If you are in Salt Lake and are hungry, this is the place to go!

This may be my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City, partially because I discovered it all by myself. The Croatian owners serve a mix of Baltic and Mediterranean cuisine, with decent and affordable wines by the glass. I'm a big fan of the cevap (minced beef sausage), and of any dish served with their ajvar dip. While the outdoor seating is quite pleasant (especially with a glass of Spanish red on a summer dusk) and unique in SLC, the service is somewhat lacking. While the servers/owners are very pleasant, the wait for the food can be glacial. That said, absolutely discover this wonderful little restaurant, but only if you have time to spare.
